Ultracargo obtained the third place prize in the category of infrastructure logistics at the Brazil 2026 Innovation Value Event in acknowledgment of its strategy to develop smart transport corridors, connecting different regions and transport modals making product transport operations more efficient, dependable, and fully integrated.

Instead of operating each terminal in an isolated way, Ultracargo has been connecting its assets by rail, road, pipeline, and waterway transportation, creating alternatives to interconnect production areas and industrial hubs to consumer centers and ports. One such example is the corridor between the cities of Rondonópolis (MT) and Paulínia (SP) that expands efficiency both for the supply of derivatives destined for the agribusiness in the Midwest as well as the outflow of the corn ethanol production destined to the Southeast of Brazil.

“Competitiveness requires operational integration. In addition to expanding our tank storage capacity, we seek to build an infrastructure that connects regions, modals and markets offering more alternatives and reliability for our clients’ operations,” states Fulvius Tomelin, CEO at Ultracargo.

The project also includes investments in technology, automation, and operational intelligence. At Vila do Conde (PA), for instance, operational efficiency was practically doubled by implementing waterway transportation at the terminal. Digital tools for the analysis, simulation and engineering also support the planning activities of new projects and decision making by the company.

Between 2022 and 2025, Ultracargo increased its static storage capacity from approximately 955,000 m³ to over 1.13 million m3 and boosted its physical presence from six to nine terminals. In the years 2024 and 2025 alone, over BRL 1.2 billion were invested in expansion and interiorization projects. Increasing the use of rail transport also contributed to about 35% less GHG emissions resulting from logistic operations, averting the annual release of approximately 51,000 tons of CO2e.

The acknowledgment of the Innovation Value Initiative strengthens Ultracargo’s strategy to combine infrastructure, technology, and integration between transport modals to increase the efficiency of the fuels, biofuels and agribusiness operation chains and follow-up on the evolution of logistic planning and the Brazilian energy matrix.
