Ultracargo, in association with Inpasa and PBio, finished the first integrated operation at the Port of Aratu enabling the export of biofuels to the European market. The operation involved the shipment of 4,000 m³ of biodiesel and corn oil destined to logistic hubs in Holland and Germany, strengthening the Brazilian capacity to meet the global demand for clean and renewable energy sources.
The logistic model is based on Ultracargo’s specialized infrastructure, with dedicated tanks and certified duct systems with capacity to enable direct forwarding to the pier, warranting efficiency, reduced costs and increased operational readiness. The optimization of the fuel transport operation was also due to the proximity of Ultracargo’s plant to the PBio plant, located in Candeias (BA).
The operation abides with stringent technical and environmental standards, including inertization procedures to preserve the quality of the products during their passage through the ducts, as well as international certifications required by the European Union, such as EN 14214 and ISCC-EU. In certain cases, the exported biofuels can reduce GGE emissions by more than 80% as compared to fossil fuels.
This type of strategic partnership in complex logistic operations places Brazil as a relevant hub in the global decarbonization agenda.
