Ultracargo, the largest integrated independent bulk storage facilities logistic solutions provider in Brazil, for the second straight year took part at Intermodal South America 2025, the major planning, freight transport, and foreign trade event in Latin America.

During the fair, running from April 22 to 24 in São Paulo, the company presented its expansion plans for 2025 and several initiatives in the fields of safety, innovation, and sustainability on an interactive totem installed at its showcase, while also offering an enhanced reality experience, allowing visitors to learn about the new Palmeirante Terminal, located in the interior of the state of Tocantins.

“Our participation at Intermodal exceeded our expectations. The event allowed us to welcome our customers, connect with new business partners, and gave us the opportunity to present our projects, which were very well received and sparked strong interest on the market,” points out Fulvius Tomelin, Commercial VP and VP for Businesses Development at Ultracargo.

Safety, innovation, and sustainability
Safety is a non-negotiable value for Ultracargo, pervading all company actions, being one of the five dimensions unfolding the policies and practices enabling effective daily performance of the company´s activities, such as: employing drones and robots for tank cleaning and inspection; hazard management using an application providing essential data for decision-making in the area; the so-called “Life-saving Rules”, with eight rules all professionals must follow; in addition to ongoing training such as the program in partnership with the University of São Paulo – USP, which aims to train employees at all hierarchical levels to manage operational risks typical to company activities.

The company also uses AI sensors in feed pumps to measure and monitor any signs of anomalies in real time, such as excessive vibrations, increased temperatures, or other inappropriate behavior.

Ultracargo has also been implementing several initiatives focused on sustainability and social accountability at its terminals. In Santos, for instance, chemical waste is transformed into paints for internal applications, generating savings and promoting the circular economy. Improvements to the Itaqui Terminal Auxiliary Drainage Tank reduced the volume of oily residues significatively, resulting in savings and less environmental impact. In addition, the terminals use 100% renewable energy ccertified since 2021, endowed with a rainwater collection system. The company was also awarded a gold medal with certification from EcoVadis, and the Amigo do Oceano Seals and Gold medal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program for its sustainable practices.

In addition to its environmental initiatives, Ultracargo invests in social projects aimed at education and development of the communities where it operates. The company supports projects such as Cactus, Alicerce Educação and Instituto Esporte e Educação, for the benefit of children, adolescents and educators. Ultracargo also provides operational training programs.
