For the second year in a row, Ultracargo marked its presence at the Global Congress on Process Safety, one of the greatest international events on the theme, held during the first week of April 2025, in Dallas, Texas. The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) hosted the event that sponsored a unique learning and networking opportunity, where the company was able to strengthen its leading role in operational risk management.

At the global debate, Aline Fonseca, Executive Terminal Manager, and Melissa Spencer, Environment, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS), presented two Ultracargo initiatives that endorse the company’s commitment to safety.

The first case deals with risk management optimization by means of a digital platform, highlighting the importance of digitalization and integration of processes among the several different Ultracargo terminals. “It´s a digital follow-up on the results provided by the risk analysis reports, enabling to monitor controls, obstacles, and changes. This process guides the company’s investments based on risk management and reinforces Ultracargo´s credibility in the field, ensuring that their assets are well protected,” explains Aline.

The second work presented at the 21st edition of the conference is related to the safety culture and involvement of both upper management as well as employees at all staff levels regarding operational risk management activities. An example is the partnership entered with the University of São Paulo (USP) for the G-MIRM Program, which aims to improve safety risk management in companies, by including it in the organizational culture. “The case emphasizes the relevance of this action in Ultracargo´s management and organizational culture, and the evolution we seek regarding maturity and safety of our operations and processes,” concludes Melissa.
